With very limited capacity, some believers came forward to create an orphan care namely, Goalchator Orphan Care in order to provide shelter, food, medication, education with a special focus on Islamic education to the orphans. Goalchator is a small village in Shatkhira district of Bangladesh. Villagers acquired over 4000 square meter land to build a 5 storied building which will include accommodation for 250 orphans, small library, prayers room and health care facilities. The full project will cost approximately $500,000 Australian Dollars.
First phase of this project is under construction now. The first phase includes construction of 100 children’s accommodation including prayers room. It has been aimed to be completed by the end of 2014. The total cost to complete the first phase is approximately $175,000. Around $80,000 has already been spent for acquisition of land, levelling the land, initital construction of foundation etc. The initiators of this project contributed their most to bring it up to the present stage. Now immediately this project needs another $95,000 to complete this fist phase.
