Our project

In 2010, Goalchator Orphan Care started as a dream to provide 5 basic needs: food, clothing, shelter, education & healthcare to orphans, the most vulnerable of our society, in Goalchator, Satkhira, Bangladesh. GOC aimed at raising the orphaned children to their potential with the proper guidance of Prophet Muhammad (SWS) for the satisfaction of Allah (SWT).

Alhamdulillah! GOC is now fully operational; providing 5 basic needs, Food, Cloth, Shelter, Education and Medication to Orphans. There are 50 orphans living in the GOC building as residents. GOC also provides support to another 45 non resident needy boys including orphans. First phase of this project is still under construction. Major construction works have been completed. It has been aimed to be completed remaining works by the end of 2015 Insha’Allah.

Goals and Objectives of GOC:

• Providing 5 basic needs, Food, Cloth, Shelter, Medication and Education to Orphans in Bangladesh
• Sponsoring Education Scholarships to Orphans (Sponsoring Orphan Girls through surrounding educational institutions).
• Providing suitable and effective Vocational Training to Orphans to build up their career and make them self-sufficient in future.
• Quran Sunnah based education
• Establishing GOC Charity Hospital
• Supporting needy and Masakin
• Participating in religious and social activity
• Setting up an Income Generating Activity (IGA) Project to support all above and creating employment opportunity.

Bangladesh, a small country of South Asia is by and large known to be a country of opportunity and prosperity by being blessed with nature's bounty featured mainly by its lush green beauty, fertile soil, treasured forest reserves and above all a huge population of about160 million. 26 percent of these populations live below the national poverty line with a very meager income of only US$ 2 per day. About half of the total population of this country is aged under 17 years and 6 percent of them is orphan. These children are not only living without their loving parents but also facing severe poverty and deprivation. Many of them live without shelter, food, clean water and other basic needs of life. As they grow, many are robbed of a childhood and left without the education and support to realize their true potentials. For many, their chances of having a brighter future are slim.

With very limited capacity, some believers came forward to create an orphan care namely, Goalchator Orphan Care in order to provide shelter, food, medication, education with a special focus on Islamic education to the orphans. Goalchator is a small village in Shatkhira district of Bangladesh. Villagers acquired over 4000 square meter land to build a 5 storied building which will include accommodation for 250 orphans, small library, prayers room and health care facilities. The full project will cost approximately $500,000 Australian Dollars.

First phase of this project is under construction now. The first phase includes construction of 100 children’s accommodation including prayers room. It has been aimed to be completed by the end of 2014. The total cost to complete the first phase is approximately $175,000. Around $80,000 has already been spent for acquisition of land, levelling the land, initital construction of foundation etc. The initiators of this project contributed their most to bring it up to the present stage. Now immediately this project needs another $95,000 to complete this fist phase.
